Gadsden Photo Club: Local Photos, Local Folks

ELIGIBILITY “Local Photos” is open to all photographers residing in Etowah, Calhoun, St. Clair, Blount, Marshall, De Kalb, and Cherokee counties working in traditional or digital photography. Each photographer may submit up to three works for consideration. The content of each work should also be limited to those aforementioned counties.

REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS The maximum print size will be 11” x 14” and the minimum size will be 8” x 10.” Entries must be framed — sturdy, wired and ready for hanging. NO saw-tooth hangers, staples, or tape allowed. No snap frames or poster frames will be eligible for consideration. Matting is at the photographer’s discretion. Gadsden Area Photographers reserves the right to exclude any work not meeting the presentation standards.

COST Entry fee is $10 per submission payable at the time of submission; three submission limit per person. Payments may be cash, check or money order payable to the Gadsden Area Photographers, Terry Hall Treasurer. No Refunds. All money collected will be used as prize money.

SUBMISSION OF WORK Digital images of work must be submitted digitally to gaphotogs@yahoo.com. A jury will be judging your image so keep in mind that all images must be high quality. Files must be JPG format , maximum file size of 7 MB, and labeled ex Smith_John_1.jpg. Photographs will not be considered until all items are received: digital images, entry form, and payment. All digital images must be submitted no later than August 21, 2020.

JURY PROCESS Once all digital images are submitted, a jury will review entries and select images for display. All photographers will be notified via email regarding the acceptance of their work.

CASH PRIZES Cash prizes will be given to 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place. Winners will be required to fill out a W-9 form. W-9’s are available at irs.gov or can be picked up at the Gadsden Museum of Art. If a photographer does not want to fill out a W-9 they will not be eligible for any prize money but will still be allowed to enter show.

DELIVERY Photographers are responsible for delivering and dropping off work at the Gadsden Museum of Art, 515 Broad Street, Gadsden AL 35901. The Gadsden Museum of Art or the Gadsden Area Photographers will not be responsible for any damage incurred in transit. All work must be delivered no later than October 2, 2020. Late submissions will not be accepted. Frames must be wrapped for protection upon delivery. Reception to be announced. Artworks must be picked up by December 11, 2020.This exhibit will be held in the Second Floor Gallery.
